My platform and phiolosophy are simple. I believe that we must:

  • Work to bring parents, teachers, students, administrators, and the community together for our schools and children. The school district has undergone several years of discord: This must stop. I will use my mediation skills to help bring a collaborative decision making process to the board.

  • Encourage high educational standards for all students. The high stakes of the high school graduation exam means that we must give our children the best education possible.

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility. The district's fiscal resources are dwindling. I understand how schools are financed, and I will use this knowledge to make sure we are using our education dollars wisely.

  • Recognize that each and every child is unique. The district must make sure that the needs of the college bound, vocationally inclined, and special education students are recognized and respected.

I realize that school board membership is difficult and often controversial, but I am prepared to work hard to make sure that our schools remain the very best.
