I have been elected in the past receiving between 75 and 83 percent of the vote because my policy is to listen carefully to the citizens of this community and preserve the quality of life we all enjoy. We are considered one of the best places to live in the United States. We have a viable downtown that won the national mainstreet award. The city won the livability award.
These are some of our success stories. Our future challenge is to secure a reliable source of water and use water reclamation and ground water as a temporary solution. Our next goal is to promote more housing for our citizens and particularly senior citizens and students.
As a university professor, I teach the subject matter related to the job of mayor and my management style is to listen to citizens and if necessary change course to insure consensus is developed in making public policy.
