QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

What qualities or skills make you the best person for the job?

Faming and Real Estate experience has taught me to be resourceful, creative, persevering and open minded to alternative approaches to get the most for your money. Volunteer work in the classroom with low achievers has given me insight into the problems facing the educational system today. Further insight has occurred through raising, home schooling and getting into college three children of my own who have an Attention Deficit Disorder and Dyslexia.

What would you like to accomplish during this term?

Early detection of students with learning problems and keeping them inclusive with regular students through an effective support program. Higher entrance teacher salaries are needed, to be phased in over time to accommodate budget concerns.

Name one original idea you'd bring to the office?

Support services modeled after the Junior colleges on behalf of students with special needs. Services would include tape recorders and/or note takers in the classroom, tutors and a quiet room for testing with time and half or double time allowed.
