This information is provided by the candidate

Native of San Diego raised in the east county. Retired from the Army in 1985 with the rank of Sergeant Major. Moved to Lakeside in 1981 to prepare for retirement.

Earned AS in both Business Administration and Computer Science Information Systems from Grossmont Community College. Started a computer consulting business.

I have taken an active interest in the community of Lakeside since 1985. Serving as a member and chair of the Lakeside Community Planning Group I worked with county staff and developers to facilitate positive growth in our community. As Director and President of the Board of Directors of the Lakeside Fire Protection District I assisted in setting policy and direction for the district, during a period of reduced revenue, that kept all employees employed without a reduction in pay. I was a director of the Lakeside Chamber of Commerce for six years serving two terms as president. During my tenure, I was instrumental in relocating the chamber office to the present location near the town center, coordinated the first Tri-Chamber mixer with El Cajon, Santee and Lakeside and brought the Carson and Barnes circus to town.

I also serves on many organizations and groups that help to improve the quality of life for Lakeside and the region such as; Lakeside Revitalization Steering Committee where I chair several sub-committees, the Upper San Diego River Improvement Committee where my goal is to shut the project down and return the tax base to the community, the Fire Districts Association of California as First Vice President working to secure the return of our property tax to local Fire Districts, Hartland Fire Training Facility Authority which provides a central training facility for Lakeside - Santee - El Cajon - La Mesa and San Miguel. I am also on a SANDAG advisory committee for long-term issues and a local citizens committee dealing with short-term issues on Highway 67.
