Citizen input is needed and needed NOW!
For the past two years I have been coming out and speaking against the Manchester Resorts project. For the past two years I have showed concerns and had questions about the project. Now Jim Watkins has joined forces with Manchester to build a resort hotel and time shares. And for the first time in two years citizen input was asked. I feel that citizen input should have been asked when this project was first presented.

The community center will not be touched nor moved. I am thrilled about this.

Workshops are being proposed and I will go against our present Council wishes and another candidate's wishes and I will attend every workshop I have to. Council urges all candidates NOT to attend the forum, well if we weren't running for office we would all be regular citizens.

I hope at these workshops both sides will come with a open mind and positive attitude. At the "workshop" on Sept. 21 both sides of the issue offered nothing new. The opponents were ranting and raving and the proponants were thanking everyone like it was the Academy Awards. Name calling must stop on both sides. Come together, find a common ground, work together. You know how the song goes: "Come on people now. Smile on your brother, everybody get together. Try to love one another right now."

I hope the citizen input is not thrown away like the El Corozon workshops were. We must take into consideration the citizens input. I also hope the workshops will be facilitated by the city and not Manchester or any private citizen (who knows if this person might take a stab at running for office in the future.

I hope the city and/or Manchester can also answer citizen's questions with a direct response.
