I moved to Vista in 1979 and started teaching math and science at Washington Middle School. In 1989 I transferred to Roosevelt Middle School again teaching math and science. In 1995 I moved to Vista High School as the Work Experience Coordinator. In 1997 I took my present position as a Home School coordinator for parents who have chosen to teach their children at home.

My wife of 19 years, Jan, was a 5th grade teacher at Crestview Elementary from 1986 until 1998 when she moved to Washington Middle School as a language arts and social studies teacher.

I have two children, Christopher, 12, a student at Lincoln Middle School, and Shelby, 9, a student at Beaumont Elementary. I coached my son's soccer team for three years, and I am in the second year of coaching my daughter's soccer team.

I joined the Sunrise Kiwanis Club of Vista in 1995 and was a member there until 1997. In 1999 I joined the Kiwanis Club of Vista where I am currently a member.

I served on the Vista Crime Commission from 1996 until 1999. In 1999 I joined the (traffic) Circulation Element Commission where I am currently serving.

I am a 1998 graduate of Lead Vista.

I received my B.A. degree in Life Science from Long Beach State and my M.A. in Education Administration from San Diego State.
