Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Marty Block

Candidate for
Board Member; San Diego Community College District; Trustee Area D

This information is provided by the candidate

I belive the three most important issues facing this district are:

1. Of 71 community college districts in California, San Diego ranks 60th in state funding. I will fight in Sacramento for full and equal funding to better serve San Diego's students and protect our taxpayer dollars.

2. We must prepare all students for the university or workplace. Utilizing "AVID-like" community college classes, enhanced financial assistance, dual admissions, transfer guarantees and expanded business partnerships, we can make it happen.

3. We must professionalize the district environment by upgrading facilities and technology, enhancing the training and treatment of district employees and extending collaborations with businesses, schools and universities, and community groups.
