Position Papers
"What Will We Resort To?"
Without a doubt the proposed Manchester luxury resort hotel in downtown Oceanside has been the catalyst for many arguments past, present, and future. Some sort of big tourist draw is needed in Oceanside and this just might be the ticket. This is still a do-able deal if we all work together. Once a final proposal is submitted to the city then we must all scrutinize it very carefully and come to a rational decision about it.
"Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Police Protection?"
Last years crime rate in Oceanside was the third lowest in all of the cities in San Diego County. Hats off to the men and women of our Police Department! Now the question is do we want to have an even better Police Department and lower crime rate. Now is the time to make all the improvements that we can, because once the economy slows down or we go into a recession we will no longer be able to afford it.
"What can a parent do to help educate their children?"
As we all know, keeping up with your school children's homework assignments and attendance record is nearly impossible to do. I plan on putting the "E" into education through a co-op between private computer hardware, software, and web-hosting companies that will enable a parent to find out about their child's daily homework assignments as well as keep an eye on attendance and other critical information and dates. The parent will be able to check on this secure information via the Internet
