Soccer Fields

By Chuck Walker

Candidate for Member of City Council; City of Scotts Valley

I support the current soccer fields and I will work to enhance our parks and recreation system
Scotts Valley is a family-oriented town. As a father of two young boys (ages 6 and 7), I understand the need for recreation. Soccer has become a very popular recreational sport here in Scotts Valley. As Mayor and Council Member, I have worked with the local soccer clubs to provide brand new soccer fields at Skypark Park. I am committed to keeping all three soccer fields in place, as they are.

As a member of the Parks and Recreation Advocacy group, I am committed to making the Parks and Recreation in Scotts Valley the best it can be. Along with the soccer fields I have helped establish the very popular Hocus Pocus park where young families can bring their children to safely play.

All of our Parks and Recreation programs are well attended and I am looking to expand them even further. My focus will be on continued support of the existing facilities and the establishment of new ones.

A long-term goal of mine is to provide a community center where activities for all age groups may be conducted. I will be driving a fundraising effort in that regard at no cost to the Scotts Valley taxpayers.
