Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Greetings! My name is Evan Wythe and I am delighted to be running for Los Altos Hills City Council. I am very proud to be a Los Altos Hills resident and I think we all realize what a wonderful community we live in. I am running for Council because I would like to contribute to the Town and make sure it remains one of the greatest places in the world to live.

We need to work hard to preserve the countrified setting in which we live, while ensuring that our laws are objectively followed with fairness, accountability and consistency. I also believe that Government must be open to public review and input which is why I have spearheaded a project to televise Planning Commission and City Council meetings.

My agenda for the future is as follows:

  • Apply our Town municipal code and ordinances in a fair, objective, and consistent manner to all residents.
  • Televise City Council and Planning Commission Meetings to keep residents informed on Town issues.
  • Plan and implement town-wide utility and infrastructure improvements to meet the technology demands of the 21st century, including broadband Internet connectivity, cable TV access, and underground utilities.
  • Encourage residents to build sewers by creating a template, which will facilitate and make the process of creating reimbursement districts understandable and easy to implement.
  • Enhance our pathway system by installing and maintaining along-the-road paths while making new off-road (back yard) pathways voluntary.
  • Direct the Parks and Recreation Committee to explore the creation of a Town park in one of the Town's open space preserves.

Enclosed is my platform statement for a more detailed explanation of my position on Town issues. It would be a privilege to have your endorsement and support. I have enclosed a return envelope for your convenience.

I welcome your comments and thoughts, as they would add to my understanding of your community perspective. You may contact me at my web site: http://www.evanwythe.com, my home phone: 650-948-4441, or via email: evanwythe@aol.com.
