MIDTOWN

By Henry C. Manayan

Candidate for Mayor; City of Milpitas

This information is provided by the candidate
Organize and Rehabilitate this critical Downtown Core to attract more businesses and residents.
I helped to formulate and advocate the Midtown Specific Plan from its inception. This is such a crucial subject, I formed a Subcommittee specifically charged with the development of the Plan. This is a very comprehensive study and planning guide which will be the blueprint for the revitalization and advancement of this vital and historic area of Milpitas. It will champion one of the most ambitious undertakings of this City--mixing retail, commercial, residential and transit uses in a balanced and orderly approach to growth. This will help to reinforce Milpitas' image as a sophisticated and well-planned community, integrating elements of urban design and good planning as we confront and shape the growth in Silicon Valley rather than being overwhelmed by it.
