MY GOALS ARE TO:

  • Maintain a rural atmosphere by planning and controlling growth and preserving open space.
  • Relive traffic congestion by pushing for earlier 101 widening and Butterfield Boulevard completion, and work with local governments, VTA, and the State to expand mass transit services and to obtain road improvements.
  • Work with the school district to finish building our public schools.
  • Continue to strive for vital medical service in Morgan Hill
  • Provide facilities and expand programs for our youth and establish a sport facility.
  • Build the community center
  • Expand the library
  • Build a new senior center, and improve and expand the senior program

I GET THINGS DONE. I took the initiative and provided the leadership in many projects in the city, among them: the RDA extension, the Nordstrom Park (first park in 10 years), the CYSA soccer field, and the recreation of the Park and Recreation Department.

I am known as THE CONSENSUS BUILDER. Alex Kennett, President of California League of Conservation Voters, said in CLCV's endorsement statement:

  • "Hedy Chang is the best candidate who has the capability of bringing all sides to work together on any given issue."
