Candidate for
Director; Santa Maria Public Airport District

My wife Dianne and I moved to Santa Maria 22 years ago with our three children, Vicki, Mike and Matt. As an Air Force Colonel I initially held several command positions at Vandenberg AFB. After retirement from the Air Force in 1983 I pursued several aerospace consulting opportunities. I am currently General Manager of the Astrotech Payload Processing Facility supporting commercial and government launch operations at Vandenberg.

As an airline passenger and an active general aviation pilot I recognize the benefits our airport offers to the business, agricultural and private sectors of our community. As a result I have decided to seek reelection to the airport board in order to continue our on-going efforts to secure improved airline service, to proceed with development of the airport Research Park and Golf Course, and to instill better financial discipline in airport management and projects.

The Santa Maria Public Airport District is now in a position to set a course for the airport that will promote the economic well being of the entire area well into the future. I welcome the opportunity to continue to participate in this process!

My qualifications include:

- Graduate, North Carolina State University, MS, Nuclear Engineering, 1963.
- Graduate, Air Command and Staff College, 1971.
- Graduate, Auburn University, MBA, 1971.
- Graduate, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, 1978.
- Current general aviation pilot (Over 7,000 hours flying time).
- Aerospace management experience.
- Commercial flying experience.
- Board of Directors, California Space and Technology Alliance (CSTA).
- Board of Directors, Santa Barbara County Workforce Investment Board (WIB).
- Board of Directors, Central Coast United Way.
