Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Folsom

This information is provided by the candidate
Qualifications: I am a candidate for the City Council because I believe that my leadership skills, acquired through lots of experience and hard work, will provide a new fresh dimension to decision making at the City Council level.

For over 11 years I have served on the Folsom Planning Commission. I am currently Chairman of that Commission for the third time. For over nine years, I have been Chairman of the Folsom Historical Committee. I am a member of the Folsom Rotary (Past Secretary), a Board member of the Folsom Lake Community Concert Association, a Member of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Folsom Historical Society.

I am a Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California with a Bachelors Degree from CSUS.

When elected, I will work hard to: · Ensure that resolution of traffic issues maintains a high priority issue for the Council. · Work with the Folsom Cordova School Board to develop a School Bond to alleviate a crisis of available classroom space in our neighborhoods · Select a site and establish a financial plan to obtain the necessary State funding to build a much neededCity Library; · Assure that the City of Folsom maintains a service oriented, customer friendly approach when dealing with citizen issues; · Assist business interests in their struggle to grow and prosper; and · Maintain police and fire services at their current high level of service.

I moved to Folsom in 1984 with my family and two daughters because we were delighted with what we saw as we investigated the community. I am a homeowner with no personal business interests in Folsom. Other primary interests are that we maintain an excellent quality of life for our families and children. I place a high value on building new bicycle/hiking trails, saving trees, and preservation of the historic features in our community. I look forward to continuing my service to the community and to serving all the citizens of Folsom as a member of the City Council.
