Top Priorities

Raising Student Achievement

Raising student achievement takes a collaborative effort among teachers, parents, students and administrators alike. Not only do we need to maintain high standards and accurately assess student progress using a variety of measures, we must also ensure that all students receive the help and tools that they need to succeed. It is vital that we continue to ensure that our schools provide a safe, secure learning environment. Finally, we must emphasize personal accountability from students, teachers, parents and administrators alike.

Maintain Fiscal Responsibility

It is not enough to just continue advocating for local control of our tax dollars and keep a close eye on the budget. We must also aggressively pursue additional sources of revenue and assistance for our schools in addition to building community and professional alliances. It is critical that resources are placed where they will have the greatest benefit for all our students.

Improve Parent/School Communication

Board members, administrators, teachers, staff and parents need to all work together to strengthen our parent/school connections. It is not enough to send home communiques; we must also foster an environment that shows we value parent input and encourages more meaningful parent participation in our schools and the business of our school district.
