Smart Voter Additional Endorsements for Trudy Ohlig-Hall

Candidate for
Director; Mesa Consolidated Water District; Area 3

This information is provided by the candidate

Endorsement by:

William R. Mills, Jr.
Chairman of Association of California Water Agencies

To Whom It May Concern:

In my position as Chairman of the Association of California
Water Agencies' Water Quality Committee, I state that Trudy
Ohlig-Hall participated and contributed to the committees
many programs.

She has been a relentless advocate for the removal of MTBE
in gasoline. She was instrumental in bringing this issue
before the Water Advisory of Committee of Orange County. The resulting resolution from that organization encouraged many
Orange County City Councils and Water actions by others, ultimately convinced the Governor to set a date for the
elimination of this gasoline additive in California.

Chet Adnderson, Chairman
Safe Drinking Water Subcommittee

Dear Trudy:

This is to acknowledge your active involment as a memeber
of the Safe Drinking Water Subcommittee of the Association
of California Water Agencies' Water Quality Committee for the past six years.

During this period the Subcommittee has worked on a number
of very important drinking water quality and regulatory
issues including MTBE, arsenic, ground water disinfection,
NDMA, perchlorate, radon and fluoridation. Your active participation as a member of the subcommittee is greatly
appreciated.

Jeanne-Marie Bruno
Chair, California-Nevada Section
American Water Works Association

To Whom It May Concern:

I have known Trudy Ohlig-Hall for the past five years as
an active volunteer with the California/Nevada Section of
the American Water Works Association (AWWA). The AWWA is
an international scientific and education society dedicated to the improvement of drinking water and supply.

Trudy is one of the few utility board members that I know
that believes in being educated as completely as possible
on issues that affect her district. She attends the AWWA
conferences to learn about all areas of water such as
quality, water treatment, and distribution system concerns.
Trudy is not afraid to ask questions of the experts to help
her better understand the issues.

Trudy feels so strongly that Board members need to be
educated to make the best policy decisions, she has taken the initiative to organize the Policy Maker Forum at the
past spring and fall AWWA conferences and the upcoming fall
conference. Trudy has arranged speakers to address
specific issues that Board members need to know and allowed
an open forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences
between policy makers and water experts. These forums have
been quite successful thanks to Trudy's commitment to its
cause.

Through Trudy's volunteer activies with the AWWA section, I
have witnessed her dedication, her commitment, her abilities to plan and organize events, and her in-depth understanding
of water issues. These are qualities of a successful
leader and effective Board member. I strongly endorse
Trudy Ohlig-Hall for Director of the Mesa Consolidated Water
District.

Signed: Jeanne-Marie Bruno
