Dr. Nora Garcia came from a loving family where she learned high achievement standards and respect for others. She is a middle child of seven children and has learned to respect others by example. Her family experience has given her social skills adaptability to understand and resolve day to day issues. She learned through sibling interaction how to deal with others and be proactive in problem solving. This is added to her increase level of enthusiasm in motivating others to do their best. Ms. Garcia came from a hard working migrant family and was tenacious in her outlook on the advantages of education. With her tenacity she earned her doctorate in education with honors.

Nora was educated in the Santa Ana Unified School District from primary to secondary schools, taught in the same district for fourteen years, was a resource specialist for three years and currently works as a school administrator. She has lived in the community for twenty-six years. Her family members are currently attending the Santa Ana Unified School District. Nora has learned through her personal involvement that educational excellence is achievable by family and community involvement.

Ms. Garcia believes in working with the whole child in fostering educational excellence with high academic standards. She also believes in working as a collaborative unit with children, parents and administrators sharing the goal of high academic standards. Nora has learned through her experience that interdependency along with her strong leadership has made a difference in academic improvement in her school.

Nora places a high value in volunteering for groups and organizations that provide help for the homeless and church groups. The volunteering extends to working in fundraising activities that give benefits to nonprofit organizations. This included participating in community groups that helped stimulate solutions for individual and group awareness.

In a patriarchal geared family, Nora was supported and learned through her tenacity to achieve educational excellence. By this example and through her tenacity, she achieved a doctorate in education. Through her interfamily support she has learned that there is no goal that is unachievable.
