Stephanie Dorey *San Clemente City Council* Campaign 2000

STEPHANIE DOREY Elementary school teacher, wife, mother and coastal advocate are among the rewarding roles in my life. Each of them has given me valuable experience, which I will bring to our city council.

My career as a teacher helped me organize, work with others, assume leadership roles and accomplish mutual goals and objectives.

As a co-founder of DeRail the Trail, I represented and worked with many of you to help protect our treasured beach, while successfully promoting safer coastal access to and along our beaches.

My involvement with DeRail the Trail taught me that you can fight city hall and win. I learned that in government there is no such thing as a "done deal"! And, that it is just as important to fight for what should be done, as to oppose what shouldn't. Because of that experience, I believe that I can continue making a difference, for the better, in our community.

Recognizing that healthy beaches are an important economic engine for coastal communities, I have lobbied for funding for our beaches (sand replenishment and water quality)in both Sacramento and Washington D.C.

Steve Netherby and I have decided to team up in our run for City Council in order to help preserve THE VILLAGE CHARACTER of our unique beach town, and to represent its citizens in preserving the QUALITY OF LIFE that means so much to all of us.

VOTE FOR STEPHANIE AND STEVE FOR SAN CLEMENTE CITY COUNCIL!
