Most Important Issue facing Fountain Valley Residents

By Larry R. Crandall

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Fountain Valley

This information is provided by the candidate
Public Safety is always a concern of our residents, however, water is the most important issue now and in the future.
Fountain Valley has a balanced budget that provides for public safety, personnel and equipment levels which have been maintained or increased resulting in public services being delivered effectively. The most important issue than becomes water. Our residents need to be assured that the quantity and quality of our water is adequate to meet their needs. I will continue to support the groundwater replenishment program, salt water intrusing injection wells and continue to oppose other agencies attempts to obtain our water.

In the area of Public Safety, I pledge to maintain our excellent reputation in order to attract and retain officers in our police department. I will continue to enhance police and fire with state of the art equipment. I will ensure ongoing training for police and fire to remain on the cutting edge of technology. It is important to challenge binding arbitration legislation which significantly threatens the city budget.

Traffic is also a concern of our citizens. Fountain Valley has many motorists who only pass through our city. I will see to it that our officers are able to enforce all traffic laws so that traffic coming through Fountain Valley does so safely. I pledge to maintain streets so traffic can move swiftly and safely. I support continued modernization trends through installation of smart lights and similar new teahnology.
