Pat Shaffer has been a teacher and administrator for 33 years. His experience definitely qualifies him to be an outstanding trustee for the Kern Community College District
Pat Shaffer has lived in Kern County all of his life. He is a product of the local schools, having graduated from Bakersfield College before getting a Masters Degree from Fresno State College. He has worked in the local schools as a teacher and administrator for 33 years, including 23 years at Bakersfield College, where he retired in 1999 as a Dean. He really knows this community and he has a very comprehensive knowledge of community colleges.

Pat has managed large budgets, and he has had long experience dealing with employees. He has a fine track record for being fair, while at the same time holding employees accountable for their responsibilities. People that know him, will tell you that Pat is up front, never leaving people to wonder where he stands on issues, nor where they stand with him.

Pat Shaffer will always base his decisions as a Trustee on what is best for students, and what is best for the colleges. He will make a fine Trustee.
