To repair and upgrade classrooms in the Fieldbrook School District, make the District eligible for State matching funds, replace flooring and windows, update electrical service and lighting; modernize the kitchen, upgrade the septic system, develop a permanent stage area in the music room and build and/or remodel facilities including bathrooms for the kindergarten classrooms, but in no event to pay school salaries, shall the District issue $450,000 of binds at interest rates below the legal limit?

Impartial Analysis from The County Counsel
A yes vote on Measure Q will approve the issuing and selling of bonds of the Fieldbrook Elementary School District in the principal amount of $450,000. The bonds shall bear interest at rates below the legal limit.

Money from the sale of the bonds will be used to: repair and upgrade classrooms, make the District eligible for matching funds, replace flooring and windows, update electrical service and lighting, modernize the kitchen, upgrade the septic system, develop a permanent stage area in the music room, and build and/or remodel facilities including bathrooms for the kindergarten classrooms.

This measure will not become effective unless the measure is approved by two-thirds of the voters within the District.

"Approval of Measure Q does not guarantee that the proposed project or projects in the Fieldbrook School District that are the subject of bonds under Measure Q will be funded beyond the local revenues generated by Measure Q. The school district's proposal for the project or projects may assume the receipt of matching state funds which could be subject to appropriation by the Legislature of approval of a statewide bond measure."

Arguments For Measure Q Arguments Against Measure Q
Vote yes on Measure Q Community members, parents, teachers and staff have made recommendations for the repair and modernization of Fieldbrook School. Measure Q provides needed bond funds for the Fieldbrook School. Let's keep our school a safe, healthy place that our students and community can enjoy. A yes vote on Measure Q will allow our school to:
  • Upgrade a forty year old septic system in need of repair
  • Remove asbestos from our school
  • Upgrade the electrical system to support technology in the classrooms
  • Build bathrooms for the kindergarten classrooms
  • Modernize the kitchen
  • Increase the seating capacity in the multipurpose room so it can better service the community and the school

The school serves as a community disaster center for the Fieldbrook Community. With bond monies the district will acquire a generator to provide electricity in a disaster.

A yes vote on Measure Q is a vote for state matching funds. A successful bond election allows the school district to obtain state matching funds.

The buildings at Fieldbrook School are 40 years old. We are asking the voters for support because our community school needs repairs. We should remove unsafe materials like asbestos from the classrooms. Our kindergartners need new bathroom facilities. Vote yes on Measure Q.

Our school serves the Fieldbrook community. Let's make the Fieldbrook School a great place for our kids to learn and a place our community can come to in time of need or for meetings. Support our school!

Vote yes on Measure Q.
