Unemployment -- Anything more than a 7-8% unemployment figure is unacceptable. Jobs must be developed to keep up with our increasing population.
  • Income - Diversify our agriculture-based economy to meet income requirements of a growing population.

  • Industrial Parks - Fast-track development of Roeding Industrial Park. Increase number of industrial parks.

  • Redevelopment Agency - Strengthen redevelopment agency. Consider tie-ins with similar Fresno County initiatives.

  • Economic Development Corporation - Increase base funding and provide more incentive money for EDC to attract businesses. Develop high profile advertising. Make better use of Fresno's economic development Web Site.

  • Families - Without violating the separation of church and state, consider how Fresno can encourage area churches and volunteer organizations to better deliver services for struggling families.
