By Kenneth Bush

Candidate for Supervisor; County of El Dorado; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate
El Dorado County is a diverse county and its residents deserve only the best. I will work tirelessly to help achieve this. New water, road maintenance, sensible and logical growth, agriculture and tourism are all very important to me.
I am very excited about the opportunity to carry the concerns of the District 2 residents to the Board of Supervisors in 2001. I am particularly proud of my accomplishments as a Director of the Local Agency Formation Commission, the Ambulance District, Pioneer Fire Protection District and as a Commissioner on the Charter Commission. I also serve on the Disaster Council.

There is much to be done if El Dorado County is to achieve the quality of life we all desire for our children and ourselves. I support logical and sensible commercial and residential growth and preservation of our recreational and rural environment. We need to ensure an adequate future water supply for everyone in the county. I will work to develop new water sources. Our agricultural and timber industries need to be protected and allowed to flourish. They provide additional revenue to the county. We must continually push for adequate police and fire protection. That is why all the major law enforcement agencies endorse me.

Commercial and industrial development also provide additional revenue to the county. This helps fund vital services such as law enforcement and road maintenance. Likewise, these development opportunities provide jobs for our citizens; thus the need for logical and affordable residential housing.

Our water resources are vital to the sensible growth of El Dorado County. We need to secure new water for agriculture, new growth and the existing water customers. A new water source is absolutely necessary for the future of our county and its residents.

When elected I intend to provide strong common sense leadership. We need more teamwork on the Board of Supervisors. I will fight for consensus when elected.
