VOTE FOR DAN DE MIGLIO

By Danny T. De Miglio

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Pittsburg Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
As an involved parent, I am running for the Pittsburg School Board because I know I can make a difference. Every student in our culturally diverse schools deserves qualified teachers and every advantage to succeed. Students should never have to attend failing schools. (see full text)
As a Board member, I will work to:

- Increase academic standards in all classrooms;

- Reduce class sizes;

- Ensure that every child reads well by 3rd grade;

- Enhance administrator and teacher quality;

- Increase parent involvement;

- Emphasize accountability for teachers, administrators, schools, and school performance;

- Turn around poor performing schools;

- Support safe, healthy, and disciplined learning environments that better connect teachers, students and families;

- Involve businesses, civic groups, and community organizations;

- Work with PUSD information services staff to ensure classrooms are equipped with the most current technology;

- Expand and improve the quality of after school and summer programs.

On November 7, I ask for your vote. Let's focus on the future and strive to make PUSD the best it can be. If we emphasize higher academic standards, teacher quality, accountability for results, safer schools, and increased parent involvement, I know we will.

Please call 427-7350 to volunteer to put a campaign sign in your front yard, walk precincts or make telephone calls.
