. Co-chair of the BSEP Planning and Oversight Committee reviewing the allocation of more than $8.5 million in public school funds

. Chair of the BSEP Class Size Subcommittee which makes possible small class sizes in the early grades

. as a representative on the District-wide Music Curriculum Committee reinstating instrumental music in all elementary schools . as a member of the District Blue Ribbon Budget Committee

. as Chair of the City of Berkeley Community Environmental Advisory Commission advising City Council regarding environmental health issues

John supports strong academic programs and will work to ensure success for all our students in all our schools by strengthening: . the District's Early Literacy Program
