Candidate for
State Representative; District 36

This information is provided by the candidate

Growing up with a family-owned business, I learned a lot about simple decisiveness and hard work, particularly after my father died. I believe a great deal of the confusion emanating from both Columbus and DC could be eliminated with a solid dose of both the KISS principle and home-grown common sense. These are two maxims that my mother instilled into me as a young man.

After working my way through college, I became engrossed in the conservative ideals of grassroots political campaigns. While serving as a campaign manager and becoming very active in both the local and state Young Republican clubs, I was repeatedly encouraged to run for State Representative. My supporters have often pointed out that my education in philosophy has prepared me for committee- and floor-level debates and enabled me to perfect my ability to question and refute arguments.

Working as an Aide to Council Members in Cincinnati City Hall taught me a great deal of what not to do. However, working as a lobbyist in both Columbus and Frankfort has provided a wealth of experience and given me an unparalleled perspective into the workings of state government.

I believe that my upbringing in mid-western family values and experience in local politics has well prepared me for the challenges of serving as State Representative. In leading local grassroots organizations, I have proven both my ability and dedication to work for all Ohioans. Every citizen must have the opportunity to exercise his or her rights and it is up to each of us to make the most of those opportunities. As your State Representative, I will strive to protect those rights.
