Libertarian Gary K. Sweeney for Ohio 34th State Rep

The year 2000 will find me in my 40th year and my 20th as a Graphic Arts Scanner operator. I am a lifelong Westsider, being born and raised in Delhi, with Oak Hills as my High School. At Oak Hills I was a member of the varsity Cross Counrty and Track teams helping to set a school record with the Cross Country 2 mile team.

Graphic Arts education at C.T.C. after high school enabled me to have a front row seat for the computer revolution that would sweep the country in the coming years. My first job was running a then "state of the arts" 1980's tape input computer scanner, at that time costing around $300,000. Today you can get the same quality from a $100 desk top scanner. Twenty years of never ending updates and new hardware and software have taught me to handle changes and to use new ideas to solve problems.

As an outgoing type of guy I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane (with a chute !),scuba dived with dolphins, sting rays and sharks (and fed the sharks), as a spelunker (caver) I have been lost underground more than once, spent time wondering through ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico ( let me tell you about yucatan rattlers Yikes!)and have ran for office more times than my wife would have liked, I suspect.

Married for going on 14 years, with two childern, my family is my life. I am very involved with my childern's education and that has led me to volunteering at their school, doing such things as reading to the childern and helping paint the gym. From this I have a first hand understanding what needs to be done to improve education.

I understand that service to your fellow citizen is something that is in short supply these days. As a member of our State's Defence force, the Ohio Military Reserves, I carry on , with many others , a service to our fellow citizens that pre-dates the State itself. The volunteer citizens organized militia, as found in Ohio revised code 5920-22. The OHMR is on a legal footing with the Ohio National Guard and is an unpaid State uniform services, on call and training ( to current Army /National Guard standards) for no pay, unless activated by the Governor for State duty.

Active in local and national politics led me to join or help start many groups,,not to mention stage many public protest rallies such as,, TEA, Taxed Enough Already, Citizens Against Governmant Waste, Local Tax Action leader, the NRA, and the acting local Pro Gun rep for the Gun Vote and pro gun rallies,as well as a guest on many local and national radio talk shows over the last ten years.

Running for office on my part is an effort to make this the very best place to raise my family. To ensure that the rights that our for fathers/mothers fought and in many cases died for are around for your childern and mine to enjoy. As I like to say I am NOT a politican a Printer yes, a Patriot hopefully, if worthy, but mainly a citizen that has had it with pompus, promise pushing politicans wanting to curtail our rights and tax our money to further their personal goals. If freedom to you and yours means anything to you, then you need to vote for me. If you are happy with the status quo, then vote for either of the other two, it will matter not, both will support less rights and more taxes from you and yours.
