My husband Dave and I moved to Simi Valley in 1963 when he accepted a position with Litton Industries in Woodland Hills. It seemed a wonderful place to raise our family and that opinion has never changed. Our children Robert and Leslie attended Simi Valley schools and graduated from Simi Valley High School. Both are married with families. We are the proud grandparents of 5 beautiful children.

Dave and I met at the University of California Santa Barbara where we were both music majors. Dave later changed to an Economics and Business major. We have been married for 42 years.

I retired as Administrative Assistant at Simi Valley Presbyterian in 1998 after working in the church office for 27 years. Dave and I have been members there since our move to Simi Valley. I direct the PreZentation Youth Choir and the Handbell Choir. I also have been a member of the Los Robles Master Chorale (formerly Moorpark College Master Chorale) for more than 20 years.

I was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center in 1994 and served as its president for four years. I continue to serve on the Board, and it is thrilling to see this beautiful facility in use by all ages in our community.

I have been involved in local and national politics since the Goldwater campaign in 1964. I have served on the campaign committees for Governor Pete Wilson, Governor George Deukmejian, Congressman Elton Gallegly, Congressman

Barry Goldwater, Jr., District Attorney Mike Bradbury and many others.

I had the pleasure to serve as Ventura County Co-Chairman for the Reagan for President Campaign in 1980 and on the County Steering Committee for the Reagan/Bush Campaign in 1984. I served as an alternate delegate to the GOP National Conventions in 1984 and 1996, and as a delegate in 1992.

I currently work as a docent for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum where I have served since its beginning.

Now that Dave is also retired, we enjoy travel, gardening and playing with our grandchildren. We still consider Simi Valley our ideal place to live.
