With presidential candidate Ralph Nader's help, the Green Party has become a vibrant national force in the U.S. Nader's truth marches on as revelations of Republicratic (particularly Clinton/Gore) financing fan the people's frustration, if not their contempt.

Summarizing the Green campaign for state representative in Minnesota's District 62A. Cam Gordon, the candidate, describes a common experience among Greens: " Above all, perhaps, we saw how warmly the vision of the Greens was received and how eager many people are for a more humane, principled approach to politics".

As Ms.Gordon's Central California counterpart, I must note the two-way nature of the warmth to which she refers. There is no richer political reward than that which comes from sitting between a couple of multi-million-dollar candidates, from one event to the next, looking out at the faces of your fellow victims and seeing hope kindled as you speak.

While the Republicrat machines used the 1996 state Senate race here in the 15th District to demonstrate the extremity of their wealth and bad taste, the Green candidacy was inspired by and offered to the people of the district as a means for their own self-empowerment. 12.089 people declared their independence and shook up a dangerously stale political equation by voting Green. Enthusiasm for the Green alternative and concurrent registration numbers have jumped sharply throughout California.

If you feel insignificant, viewing the awesome power and corruption of the ruling corporate duopoly, join a chorus. Cleanse your system, Vote Green on March7, then register Green. E.Craig Coffin. Letter published in the Monterey County Herald.
