DARYL IS A CONTRA COSTA & ALAMEDA NATIVE

Born in Alameda County in 1963, Daryl is the youngest of three brothers, David and Darren. Daryl grew up in Contra Costa, going to Pleasant Hill Elementary, Pleasant Hill Intermediate High, and finally graduating Acalanes High School in 1982.

Through that era's Public School System, Daryl benefited from the many skilled teachers, disciplined classrooms, and civic programs made available. Boy Scouts, music programs, and after-school athletics gave Daryl the opportunity to experience a healthy childhood.

After high school, Daryl entered the United States Air Force, at Lackland AFB, Texas. Upon graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy, and later the Traffic Accident Investigations School, he served on Air Force Bases in Texas, England, Germany, and California. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1987.

Daryl attended Diablo Valley Community College, transfered to the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Working at Costco Wholesale, Daryl attended law school at night at the University of John F. Kennedy, School of Law, and received his juris doctor in 1999.
