Pete Bret is the Libertarian candidate for the Second Assembly District. Pete was born in Riverside California 49 years ago and has been a resident of Shasta County since 1980. He is married and recently became a grandparent. Pete is employed by a national distributor in quality control and serves with the National Guard as an engineer. In the 1960's he served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman. He is a published author and a California Registered Pharmacy Technician. Pete has traveled and worked around the world on projects as varied as building bridges in Central America, building ships in Mississippi, tunnels and high rises in Southern California and pipelines in the Middle East. He is a graduate of Orange Coast College of Costa Mesa, California and also has an AA from Shasta College of Redding as a Legal Assistant. Pete is a member of Redding Writers Forum, Haven Humane Society, KIXE TV 9, Shasta Cascade Rail Preservation Society, The Nature Conservancy, the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Shasta County and the National Rifle Association. In his leisure time he enjoys making improvements on his rental properties, riding and working on motorcycles and target pistol shooting.
