I am a candidate for the Democratic Central Committee of San Mateo County because I believe I bring to the Central Committee a unifying force, able to develop and implement new ideas and help to improve the core values of the Democratic Party.

The DCC aims to help aspiring and incumbant politicians achieve office. It acts as a clearinghouse of information between the community and its' elected officials. Building bridges between groups, supporting our local, state and national officals, as well as helping to build party loyalty is done in conjuction with the DCCs around the country.

As the incoming chair for the San Mateo/Foster City Club, I realize the importance of leadership and the value of teamwork to strenghen the Central Committee. For many years now I have been active with the committee in several ways. As an active member I have registered over 100 new voters, assisted dozens of local and state campaigns, and always provide a postive impact during our meetings. Last year I was honored to assemble a housing panel discussion which focused on the current housing crisis.

For the next two years, it will be my goal to put in place several ideas. I strongly believe that we must:

1) First and foremost do a better job explaining to the people exactly what the Central Committee is and does,

2) Increase membership by at least 10% per year, per club,

3) Find ways to increase candidate awareness and voter interest in local and state matters,

4) Become innovative in fundraising, and be aware of other club sucesses, and

5) Explore the idea of a permanent location for our Committee that can generate income from the usage of elected officials, groups local clubs. Establishing a headquarters for the party makes sense.

As a homeowner and the owner of a real estate company, I understand the importance of leadership and cooperation to help solve the many urgent matters facing us today. As a good Democrat, we must engage the public now, and make the changes that will preserve the quality of life we enjoy.

With strong leadership, we can make new roads to success. I look forward to travelling that road with you, and look forward to your support.
