Action on Oil Depletion and Renewable Energy

By Thomas S. Dickerman

Candidate for Green Party County Council; County of San Mateo

This information is provided by the candidate
Read Colin Campbell's book, "The Coming Oil Crisis." Please join me in moving America and the world rapidly away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy.
It is now essential that we take prompt action to move America and the world away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy as rapidly as possible. In his new book, "The Coming Oil Crisis," Colin Campbell and other expert petroleum geologists show that world oil production will peak by 2005, although world oil demand continues to climb. America must lead in new technologies such as fuel cell engines and photovoltaics. We must use energy conservation and improve the efficiency of energy useage. We must set in place a national planning process that will make renewable energy happen rapidly, but in a planned way. America's current major movement is for the protection of the environment and mitigation of global warming. These issues are at the top of the agendas for most environmental organizations. Therefore, you can know that you are not alone in wanting a better future for us all through clean sustainable energy. Together, we can truly determine the course of events in the twenty-first century. Thanks to the potential of sustainable energy, the next century can be the greatest period in the history of mankind---but only you and I can make it happen.
