I am an intervener for T.H.E. P.U.B.L.I.C. in the California Energy Commission process. A major change in the application to encroach into the riparian corridor with new physical layout and loss of energy efficiency may be fatal error. Too much information is kept hidden by the applicant (Calpine). The extension of recycled water by the city into evergreen, and reenforcement of the power grid by PG&E at rate payer expense, pale at the damage that will be done by the city intent of approving `stream augmentation' through reuse of cooling water in the Coyote. An ecological disaster is in the making, not just merely destroying the nearby homeowners. The precedent of `peaking' turbines were established in residential areas at Hunter's Point (retired). I am following the EIR process before the CPUC also, while revealing the bogus city project numbers in PG&E's application. Alternative locations available in the city bear diligent watching in a larger perspective, since they may be in your back yard so you won't have to be downwind.
