Either by chance or by choice I have witnessed truly difficult and sometimes historic times in Latin America and here in the United States. These experiences have given me a great appreciation and respect for the democratic process.

I also believe very strongly that people have the talent and ability to really make a positive impact on their lives and the future of their communities.

I do not see government as the only responsible party to make all things happen, but rather as a partner with the broad community and with business to get things done.

I believe in establishing very clear channels of communication and will provide the community with ample opportunity to participate at every level.

To me the most important thing we can do is to get our children ready for the future.

That is why in my four years as City Council person I will focus on improving public transportation, supporting well-planned housing that preserves green space and adopts design concepts that create a sense of community, and on school improvements that can give our kids the tools they need.
