Provide Greater Affordable Housing Opportunities

By Maria Y. Ferrer

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of San Jose; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate
We can assist first time home buyers through mortgage revenue bonds, and mortgage credit certificates.

I am in favor of extending the redevelopment period as long as we primarily target neighborhoods for the new redevelopment areas.

I will advocate for federal legislation to increase federal allocation of low income housing tax credits, and state tax credits.

In Coyote Valley, I will lead in the development of a plan with full community participation, including the faith and school community, environmentalists, the school community and others.

I will ensure we plan ahead to forestall or mitigate problems with transportation, flooding, etc.

I will protect and maintain enough open space for the enjoyment of our families.
