This information is provided by the candidate

I was born, back east, into a first generation family. I moved to the Silicon Valley about a dozen years ago. I live in Cupertino and consider this area my permanent home. My first jobs were in the family manufacturing business. Dinner table conversations often revolved around education as the key to future success, current events, and solving challenges. I learned early the values of hard work, integrity, education, and positive solutions.

After graduation from Carnegie Mellon University, I became a software engineer. I was promoted to a project lead within two years. After about ten years in the profession, I became a manager. Six years ago, I became a management consultant. I specialize in working with companies going through change (e.g., start up, small company to medium size company transition, low performing group, or merger).

When I am not busy with work or politics, I am active in my community. My community service has included tutoring teenagers with disabilities, cleaning up schools in low-income areas, and working on a drug and alcohol help line. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Independent Computer Consultants Association.

I enjoy the balance of work, community service, and fun. I love hiking, water skiing, and cooking. I am also learning to rollerblade.

I worked on many political campaigns as a teenager. I then took a hiatus from active politics to establish my career. I returned to the political scene in California about five years ago.

I've been a successful organizer for local, state, and national campaigns. My work has included the campaigns of Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, Assemblywoman Elaine Alquist, and Senator Barbara Boxer. Approximately four years ago I was appointed as Alternate to the Democratic Central Committee. So I have the voting and attendance record normally available only to an incumbent.
