Kathleen's interest in politics developed at an early age. At age 8 she helped fold campaign literature for Jimmy Carter at her neighbor's house,so it could be distributed. She was also a volunteer for the "Gary Hart for President" campaign in 1984, when she was a junior at San Clemente High School.

Kathleen has always been very proud to be a registered Democrat in Orange County. Her philosophy has been, "It's MORE THAN just 'okay' to be a Democrat in Orange County, it's BEST."

Shortly before graduating from high school in 1985, Kathleen was nominated and elected to the Orange County Democratic Party's Central Committee, where she became a voice for young political activists.

Kathleen has always been a strong promoter of getting more young people politically active in the Democratic Party. After graduating from high school in 1985, Kathleen attended Saddleback College, where she was the founder and president of the community college's Democratic Club, which is still active.

Kathleen graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton in 1998. While in college she was involved in a "Sacramento Seminar" where she did research on Welfare Reform in Sacramento.

During her time as a member of the Orange County Democratic Party's Central Committee, Kathleen has served on several committees from voter registration, environment, fundraisers to writing and approving resolutions. She was the County Committee's Resolution's Chair in 1996. She was also the co-author of the resolution which encouraged the County's Committee to fight bigotry by endorsing the "Frogue Recall" in South Orange County in 1997.

Kathleen is currently serving as the secretary for the 73rd Assembly District's Democratic Caucus. She is also the Political Liaison and Activities Chair for the South Orange County Democratic Club, and continues to promote Young Democrats activities through voter registration.

Kathleen is currently working as a writer and in retail in San Clemente.
