Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Wade H. Tavorn

Candidate for
Mayor; City of Bakersfield

This information is provided by the candidate

I have a vision that one day in the city of Bakersfield, all of our children will be educated and able to pick any profession they chose. I have a vision that planning directors, city council members, city manager, the BIA, Chamber of Commerce, religious centers and communities will all work together to make Bakersfield a livable city, not a well engineered city! I have a vision where social capital, structural capital, and financial capital will be balanced throughout the entire city. I have a vision where the crime rate will continue to go down, drug and alcohol problems reduced, good public schools in all communities, quality health care for all, a clean environment for our children, affordable cost of living for all, strong economic growth, extra curricular school activities for our youth, and access to college or a trade school. I have a vision where all our communities have concerned neighbors, active churches, effective neighborhood watch groups and strong teachers and administrators in our schools. I have a vision where the county and the city will discuss and manage the affairs of the communities with the truth always on the table! I have a vision where the educational gap between minorities, Asians, and Caucasians will decrease dramatically in the 21st century in our city. I have a vision where technology will be a major part of our cities future, in agriculture, finance, health care, education and the environmental controls. I have a vision where CSUB will become a major player in technology in the state of California, providing knowledge and experience for our elementary and secondary school systems. I have a vision where young people in our community will be thought of as valuable resources and not as commodities. I have a vision that Bakersfield will be ranked in the top ten as one of the best independent cities in America to raise children, not 97th out of 112. I have a vision where the Kern River Parkway will run from the canyon of the great Kern River to interstate 5. I have a vision where the mayor and city council will think about all of us in every decision that they make! I have a vision where the mayor and city council will work hard to resolve issues, not win political ground.
