Toxics, Radioactive Waste, Biosolids, Human Sludge - These Don't Belong in our County.

Toxic and radioactive waste dumps do not belong in our county. I fought the expansion of the toxic dump at Buttonwillow because it is close to the California Aqueduct and endangers our ground water. I put pressure on the politicians at the state, federal and local levels to help expose the illegal dumping to the public of 83 boxcars of radioaactive waste in the facility. The incumbent voted for the expansion of the facility, has been silent on its illegal activities, and has taken thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from these and others who profit from this "business." Similarly, biosolids with cancer causing "heavy metals" are dangerous to our health and water supply. Our Supervisors, in approving the spreading of so-called "high quality" sludge here, have attracted a new "sludge" industry to Kern County. this must stop! We don't need more polluting industries here. We want to live in a community that has clean air and water. We want a safe community with h8gh paying indusstries. We can have it all. Other communities do. Planning, Planning, Planning. And leadership that has a vision of what we can become and the will to make that vision a reality.
