Competence and Service of County Government

By Philip M. "Phil" Erdman

Candidate for Supervisor; County of Fresno; District 5

This information is provided by the candidate
Are you frustrated with how your County tax dollars are spent and the services they provide? Read below.
Having been a county employee going on thirty years, I have had the opportunity to experience first hand the "ins","outs", and frustrations of county government. Most county departments and employees do a terrific job with the tools and conditions they work under. Unfortunate6ly, there are departments within the County system that need to be scrutinized for their public relations, accountability to their function, and management style.

I firmly believe the mission of County Government should be "to serve the tax-paying citizen", not to "rule" the citizen. County government should respond to the needs of both the citizen and the municipalities, all the while providing first rate service for mandated functions. There has been too much bickering going on, too many territorial discussions, and not enough collaborating together.

I am proud to be known for my integrety and deep concern and respect of others. I believe in honesty, fairness, and accountability. As Supervisor, I would hold county government services to the people by the same standards.
