I am 52 years young, married, and the father of three adult children. I was born in Glendale, CA, raised in the mountains of the Kern River Valley, and attended Bakersfield College, where I received an Associate of Arts degree in Police Science. I transfered to Fresno State and received my Bachelor's degree in Corrections.

As a teenager and young adult, I worked as a dishwasher, carpenter, heavy equipment operator, and head groundskeeper. Before graduating from East Bakersfield High School, I joined the Navy Reserve and served as a Yoeman until my Honorable Dishcharge in 1970.

While raising my three children, I became involved in the Clovis Soccer League, Clovis T-ball, Clovis Babe Ruth, and all the events that go with school activities. I also became involved in my church, where I have served as Deacon for many years. After my children left the nest, I redirected my spare time to community issues. I joined the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and have served as an Ambassodor for the past five or six years.
