'I'o open, I would like to give you a broad snapshot or myself as a candidate for Loveland City Council.

I have a long and involved history of working for you - the citizens of Loveland. My involvement started over 10 years ago with participation and leadership in the Men's retreat programs at St Columban Church and nine years ago as a founding member of the Loveland Downtown Council. My involvement continued through volunteering as chairman of the Loveland Citizens for Responsive Government, participating in various City committees, coaching youth athletics, and participating in numerous public hearings and public forums. Even within the last four years as your council representative and as Vice Mayor, I have an extensive list of accomplishments either completed or started for our community. The momentum of these enhancements is of paramount importance. As a community, we need to continue the established successes while moving forward by capitalizing on the opportunities before us. As I have always maintained, this is not how to change Loveland, but rather how to enhance the quality of life we now enjoy.

On a personal note, I am married to Teresa and have three boys - Scott, Peter, and Tim. We have been active supporters of the Loveland community since moving here 16 years ago. I have worked at GE for the last 20 years and am currently Manager of the Systems Design Engineering group. The family sport is Ice Hockey which all our boys play. Not only do I play in a men's league, but I also have coached youth hockey for the Cincinnati Amateur Hockey Association for the last several years. As I stated earlier, I have an extensive list of involvement and accomplishments such as: Member Loveland Sign committee, member Historic Redevelopment Committee, Member Finance Committee, founder and member of Historic parking and access committee, Member Planning and Zoning Commission, President of the Community Improvement Corporation, council member for 4 years and Vice Mayor for the last two. We have improved historic downtown, provided a new Safety service building, extensively improved the water system, provided cell tower regulations and new subdivision regulations, provided over 100 acres of green space, continued extensive annual street improvements utilizing a 5 year plan. We have donated land to Habitat for Humanity, secured the future YMCA and Loveland Madera road improvement. We have exercised sound City fiscal management as evidenced by the A1 bond rating.

This list only touches the surface, however as a voter myself, I expect a candidate not to expound and rest on their record but to be proactive and inform the community of their goals. You should expect no less of me. When elected to City Council, I plan on addressing the following issues: 1) Improve the cost effectiveness of City services Introduce NE Communications - reducing Safety Service operating costs Participate in more Public / Private partnerships to continue community improvements and offset the tax burden 2) Continue fiscal responsibility Keep taxes down by improving the tax base. This will be done in order to provide the revenues for the growing service demands this city is faced with. 3) Participate in regionalism Our city is not an isolated island. We need to participate more heavily in community wide issues as well as State and Federal initiatives like Issue II, COPs and CDBG. 4) Proactive risk abatement The largest risk of disaster for this community is flood. In addition to a disaster preparedness plan, I will proactively peruse reducing our risk by working with FEMA in advance. 5) Continue working toward community enhancement Preserve additional green space and actively pursue park enhancements Replace old substandard 4" cast iron water mains Continue curb, gutter, and sidewalk upgrades and replacements Ratify the recreation 5 year plan Continue Historic Downtown redevelopment

I am committed to the needs of the residents and the businesses of Loveland. A vote for me is a commitment for proactive and experienced leadership with community long-term benefits in mind.

Thank you for the years of support you have given me so far and I look forward to serving for you again in the years to come!
