Questions & Answers

1. What are your views regarding the need for public transportation in your community to promote access to employment throughout the region?

Public transportation in our community is adequate to access employment south of Lincoln Heights and towards Tri-County. However, many employment opportunities in the Blue Ash/ Montgomery area could be accessed by creating an extended bus route for Bus 43 that could connect with an extended route of Bus 4 in Evendale.

2. Would you be in favor of county-wide campaign finance regulations that would provide for public matching funds, limit campaign contributions and provide for more disclosure? State your opinions on these ideas; whether you would support or oppose them.

I am opposed to public matching funds. The current regulations limiting campaign contributions are adequate; in my community corporate donations rarely occur but I do understand the need to level the playing field. Individual should be permitted to give what they want. The disclosure laws now in effect are sufficient.

3. What are the benefits/detriments to land use planning prior to zoning decisions?

Land use planning should be done in conjunction with or be made compatible with zoning. Too often land use planning is done in the abstract. The economic and social development of the community. The detriment occurs when there is no flexibility in either. After a period of time some plans or zoning laws may become obsolete. It is not always possible to anticipate the needs of the time.
