I'm the Democratic candidate for city council from the fifth word. I'd like to tell you about some of the reasons I have decided to run for city council. Five years ago my family and I relocated here from Chicago. Because we were anxious to give our children a better quality of life, my wife took an opportunity to join the family business here in the Cincinnati area. My wife left a career that she loved and I faced uncertainty walking away from a career in the music business I spent twenty years establishing. We could have moved anywhere in the tri-state area, but we chose Norwood. Norwood seemed Perfect, a place where our children would be safe, a place where they would receive a quality education, a place with small town charm and friendliness, a place with great old houses that with work, time, -money and love would become our home. Finally, a place were we could safely, invest in our children's future and our golden years. This brings us to why I have decided to run for city council.

Norwood is entering a time of transition, potential progress and choices of change. Because of its prime central location, Norwood is and has been the object of many developers attention. Most of the development that has occurred has been beneficial and city revenues have increased. This revenue, if managed responsibly, should be sufficient for our city to provide a high level of quality services for its citizens. The present administration continues to push us deeper into debt and at the same time seems to be rushing us headlong into new developments with little or no input from its citizens in order to pay back this irresponsibly acquired debt.

Norwood's prime location insures the opportunity for further development into the Millennium. We must carefully and responsibly proceed with Norwood's future. This future must be decided by ALL the citizens of Norwood through the democratic process and not by the vision of a chosen few by mandate. I pledge that when elected I will work toward financially responsible government, to preserve Norwood's small town qualities and to responsibly redevelop Norwood for the benefit of ALL the citizens. I pledge to work for you to ensure a high quality of life and security for our ourselves, our families and for future generations. When elected to be your representative on city council, I pledge to you that I will be a vigilant voice for all the residents of the Fifth Ward not only on issues centered on our word, but on all issues facing Norwood. I am committed to responsibly serve and help guide redevelopment of Norwood for the benefit and by the will of all the citizens of Norwood.

I'd like to hear from you. You may e-mail me at CMM9.gdM.Com or phone me at 513-731-8995
