  • 1994-Present- GREATER CINCINNATI COUNCIL ON WORLD AFFAIRS Executive Vice President

  • 1949-1994- THE CINCINNATI GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY (Served in five different fimctional areas):

-HUMAN RESOURCES - Acquired skills in Employment, Training, Job Evaluation, Labor Relations and Safety and Employee Benefits.

-ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS - Entered this discipline concurrent with introduction of Stored Progranuning Technology. Advanced tothe highest technical professional level, followed by promotions to the supervisory/management ranks. Project Manager for Customer Information System installed in 1971 (upgraded and replaced in 1993).

-PUBLIC & COMMUNITY RELATIONS - Developed and directed corporate efforts to expand communication and relationships with its' many publics during the heart of the Zimmer Nuclear crisis

-INFORMATION SERVICES - With the introduction of the personal computer, returned to systems function. Led efforts to capitalize and incorporate this newest technology in an environment that sought to work smarter, while leaming to produce more with less.

-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Led successful efforts to position the Company where it would play a larger and more effective role in Regional Business Retention Expansion and New Business Recruitment.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

  • Various community services some of which include having served on the Boards of. Boy Scouts of America; Boys Clubs of America; Cincinnati Industrial Mission; NAACP; United Way - Community Chest (recipient of Neal McElroy Award in 1979); The Cincinnati Civil Service Commission 1966-1982 - Chairman for 7 years; Music Hall Board; Leadership Cincinnati (Class II).

PERSONAL VALUE SYSTEM:

Champion of personal responsibility, work ethic and jobs as the primary source of self esteem, limited government, the notion of the "common good", concept of continuous improvement of both self and society's institutions, and the strength and power of the human spirit to ultimately overcome even life's most difficult challenges.
