Position Papers
Property tax rollback
Estimates are that the average property re-evaluation in Montgomery will increase 12.65%, Residential homeowners would be responsible for paying 75% of that increase.
Debt reduction.
In the past 10 years Montgomery's debt has increased 260%. 1 would like to set aside 1998 surplus for debt reduction and give the citizens of Montgomery the right to vote on a Charter Revision that will limit the amount of Total Debt and Individual Debt that the city can incur without the approval of the voters.
Reduce city expenses while maintaining and improving essential services.
Since Montgomery's spending has increased over 270% in the past 10 years, I would like to appoint a Citizens Committee to evaluate current government operations and to make recommendations for efficiency and improvements.
