This information is provided by the candidate

Approximately 3 years ago I retired from the escrow profession after a 27-year career. At that time my life took a different direction and I made the decision to become the secretary for Grace Community Christian Church, where I am also an active member.

I am married to Tom Moore, and have three sons: Robert, living in Modesto, Randy, married to Lisa, living in Ceres, and Matt Sharpe, living in Modesto.

My community involvement began when I moved to Ceres in 1981, and joined the Ceres High Booster Club. I remained an active member of this club for 10 years, during Randy and Matt's high school years.

In April of 1991 I joined Soroptimist International of Ceres (the world's largest women's service organization) and have served in various board capacities. I was selected as Soroptimist of the Year in 1993, and I am currently serving as President of this club.

In January 1994, I was appointed to the Ceres Planning Commission, and I remain a Commissioner at this time. I was chairman in 1998.

My other community involvement includes currently serving as a Director with the Ceres Chamber of Commerce; and a member of the Ceres Street Faire Committee (chairman in 1998).

Previously I served on the Ceres Concerts in the Park Committee; the Ceres Community Foundation; and the Graffiti All Gone Committee.

I sincerely care for the Ceres community. I live, work, and shop here. The Chamber's motto is "Always Try Ceres First"--and that is what I strive to do.
