Shall the City Council provide sewer service to the area of Modesto Urban Area General Plan, provided the area is first annexed to the City, which is described in the Sample Ballot as set forth in Measure G?

Summary Prepared by the City Attorney:

The City has placed Measure G on the ballot for this Regular Municipal Election to seek the advice of the electorate with respect to whether the City Council should provide sewer service to that area of the Modesto Urban Area General Plan known as the "Westside Infill Area" which is more fully described in the measure. The outcome of the election on this measure will be canvassed and presented to the City Council. This election result will provide information to the City Council concerning the inclination of the voters of the City regarding the provision of sewer service to the "Westside Infill Area". However, the outcome of the election with respect to this measure, shall not bind the Council to act in a particular way with respect to either the provision or the nonprovision of sewer service to that area.

Area Definitions

"Westside Infill" Area

The following two unincorporated "island" areas are generally located north of Kansas Avenue, west of Carpenter Road, south of Blue Gum Avenue, and east of Morse Road, consisting of 51.6 acres.

"Rosemore Cox" Area"

The unincorporated area generally located south of Blue Gum Avenue, north of Cox Avenue, east of Rosemore Avenue, west of Pritchard Avenue.

"Carpenter/Shaddox" Area

The unincorporated area generally located north of Woodland Avenue, east of Bennett Road, Seneca Place and Seneca Court, west of Carpenter Road, and south of Assessor's parcel numbers 81-26-37 and 81-26-39.

A YES vote of this measure means:: You should vote "YES" on this measure if you want to advise the City Council that you are in favor of providing sewer service to the "Westside Infill Area".
A NO vote of this measure means:: You should vote "NO" on this measure if you want to advise the Council that you are not in favor of providing sewer service to the "Westside Infill Area".
