Quality schools are a critical aspect in the making of prosperous communities. This area's economic health and property values cannot continue to improve unless our schools meet high standards of excellence.

I believe we can and must develop the Sequoia Union High School District into one of the most successful and respected high school districts in the state. To accomplish this we must:

  • Set higher standards and expectations for student achievement for all students.
  • Increase the percentage of students meeting University entrance requirements.
  • Reduce the large student drop-out rate.
  • Establish new academic and student support programs to address the diverse and changing needs and career goals of all students.
  • Expand successful programs so all students have the opportunity to enroll in them.
  • Foster effective means of communication between the high school district and the elementary school districts and work to align the curriculum.

The Sequoia Union High School District cannot accomplish these goals alone. We must involve the entire community to succeed. As a Trustee I will encourage participation and support from parents, educators, business and community leaders. We must work together to ensure the success of each and every student and make this district one of which we all can be proud.
